Hormone Test (Women)

At Circle Health, we support women in better understanding their hormonal symptoms. We offer a hormone test, including a micronutrient test, aimed at identifying hormonal and micronutrient imbalances. With personalized insights and tailored recommendations, we guide you on your journey to hormonal balance and holistic well-being.

At-Home Hormone Test Kit

You will receive a test kit at home. With this kit, you will easily perform a saliva sample, ideally between the 19th and 21st day of your cycle. This timing is crucial as your hormone levels are most informative during this phase of the cycle.

Blood Draw

For the micronutrient test, you’ll visit us at the practice, where we will take a small blood sample to precisely determine your micronutrient levels. This measurement is key to ensuring that there are no deficiencies that could affect your hormonal health.

Results & Consultation

Once your test results are available, we will discuss them in detail with you. We will explain your 14 hormone levels as well as your micronutrient levels and their significance for your health.

Individual Health Plan

Based on your results, we will create a personalized health plan for you. This plan will help you achieve hormonal balance and holistic well-being.

What’s taken into account?

With our two tests, we assess the most important hormones and micronutrients, to obtain a comprehensive picture of a woman's hormonal health.

Hormone Levels

  • Progesterone: Plays a central role in regulating the menstrual cycle and is essential for maintaining pregnancy. A balanced progesterone level not only supports fertility but also mood regulation and can ease PMS and menopause symptoms.
  • Testosterone: Important for muscle growth, bone health, and libido. In women, an imbalance can lead to problems like acne, hair loss, or PCOS.
  • DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone): A precursor hormone that is converted into other important hormones like testosterone and estrogen. DHEA is important for the immune system, skin health, and overall energy levels.
  • Estradiol: A primary estrogen crucial for regulating the menstrual cycle and maintaining fertility. It also affects other body functions like bone health and the cardiovascular system.

Micronutrients

  • Calcium: Essential for bone health and nerve function. It also plays a role in muscle contraction and can support hormonal balance through the parathyroid gland.
  • Copper: Necessary for hemoglobin and collagen formation. It is also important for energy production and can influence hormone balance through its role in iron metabolism.
  • Iron: Important for the formation of hemoglobin, which is needed for oxygen transport in the blood. Iron deficiency can lead to anemia, causing fatigue and impacting hormonal health.
  • Potassium: Vital for nerve function and muscle contraction. Potassium also affects electrolyte balance and cell function, which indirectly influences hormone production and regulation.
  • Magnesium: Plays a key role in over 300 enzymatic reactions, including DNA and RNA synthesis. Magnesium is also important for hormone regulation, especially progesterone production.
  • Manganese: Involved in bone formation and enzymes necessary for hormone production.
  • Molybdenum: A trace element important for breaking down sulfur-containing amino acids and supporting detoxification, which in turn supports hormonal health.
  • Selenium: A vital antioxidant that supports immune function and protects cells from oxidative stress. Selenium is also critical for thyroid hormone function.
  • Zinc: Important for the function of over 300 enzymes in the body. Zinc plays a crucial role in hormone production, including thyroid and sex hormones. It is also important for immune defense and wound healing.

These hormone values, combined with micronutrient levels, provide a comprehensive view of a woman's hormonal health and help identify and target the causes of symptoms such as menstrual irregularities, infertility, weight gain, fatigue, and other hormone-related problems.

Why are micronutrients important in hormone testing?

Micronutrients play an essential role in the production and regulation of hormones. A deficiency in specific micronutrients can lead to significant disruptions in hormone balance. For example, magnesium is crucial for progesterone production and can help alleviate PMS symptoms. Iron, a key component of hemoglobin, also influences thyroid function and energy levels.

By examining both hormone and micronutrient levels, we can not only identify hormonal imbalances but also better understand the deeper causes of symptoms like fatigue, hair loss, or mood swings, and address them effectively. This holistic approach allows us to offer you a customized treatment plan that supports your health on all levels.

  • Our naturopaths, who conduct the anamnesis, have years of experience in functional medicine and naturopathy, and have also run their own practices.
  • Our therapies are carried out by naturopaths and medical assistants who have years of experience in performing naturopathic therapies. They are also skilled in invasive procedures such as administering infusions and drawing blood.
What are the costs for a therapy?

Determining the exact costs of comprehensive therapy in advance is difficult, as they can vary depending on individual symptoms, physical condition, and therapy approach. A detailed initial assessment allows us to make a more accurate financial assessment.

Does my health insurance cover the costs?

The treatment costs for sessions at Circle Health as well as the substances recommended by Circle Health are generally not covered by statutory health insurance and only partially reimbursed by private health insurance. The costs are to be borne by patients themselves. (Partial) reimbursement by private health insurance or supplementary insurance is possible; however, it is the responsibility of patients to inform themselves about the respective procedures for cost reimbursement and approval and to take advantage of these. The invoice will be issued independently of any potential reimbursement and is to be paid by patients independently.

Can I cancel an appointment?

You have the option to cancel appointments up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. If you exceed the 24-hour deadline, Circle Health reserves the right to invoice the entire expected revenue for the missed appointment.

Covid-19 and other acute infections

In order to ensure the safety of all patients, we ask you not to come to the practice if you have the following symptoms and diseases:

  • Covid-19
  • Acute flu-like infection
  • Acute bacterial infection
  • Other contagious diseases

We do not require a negative Covid-19 test upon arrival, but trust that you will recover from these symptoms and illnesses before coming to the Circle Health practice.
